It’s been over 5 months since the second season of the Nigerian Idol show kicked off and
after tough drillings, star performances and surprise evictions, fan
favourite Chinwo Nnenda better known as Mercy has emerged winner!
Our reporter who witnessed the final recording this evening says
Mercy (or Mecinda as she is fondly called), defeated co-contestant Joe
Blue after the acts rendered three songs and were heavily applauded by
the audience.
The show kicked off when Hosts Ill Ryhmz and Tiwa Savage who was looking as ravishing as ever called the 12 finalists to render the National Anthem which was followed by a performance from Wizkid, W4 and Chuddy K.
Judges Yinka Davies, Jeffery Daniels and Charly Boy could not but
smile and later cheer Mercy who has displayed outstanding performances
with her petite figure.
Recorded today at the Idols studio in Lagos, the final show will be
broadcast tomorrow on AIT, STV and NTA. The producers will not
officially announce the winner until then.
Winning the second edition of Nigerian Idol, Mercy walks away with
the top prize of a recording contract, an SUV and a mouth-watering cash
of prize of $100,000 (N15m).
